Facilities
We are registered with Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a residential care home providing care for up to 19 residents.
Set in one acre of grounds, Generals Meadow has been especially designed for those less able and offers wide corridors for easy access by wheelchair users, an easy to use lift, gentle stairways and plenty of room to wander freely between the lounges and sitting areas.
Outside, the grounds allow room to roam and, if you are a keen gardener, there is the opportunity for you to advise and assist on the planting.
The garden is very fortunate to have its own pond which has a variety of fish accompanied with water-based planting. A tranquil water-fall feature adds to the relaxing and tranquil environment which has been created for everyone to enjoy.
Wildlife has been attracted to our garden and regular visitors include a variety of birds, hedgehogs, squirrels and to the pond we have frogs (and their tadpoles), newts and dragonflies.
Our rooms are tastefully decorated. We offer single and double rooms for single and double occupancy with a choice of en-suite facilities. Whilst all rooms are well furnished, residents are welcome to bring their own furniture and other items to personalise their rooms to make them feel at home.
All rooms have a television and a nurse call system installed along with free wireless broadband.
For frail residents we have installed specialist baths and walk-in showers with low level doors for ease and comfort. These may be used independently or with assistance from the care staff.
Our garden is accessed from our large conservatory. Meals are taken at our Restaurant style dining room or private dinning in a separate dining room
We encourage residents to use the lounges as often as possible to interact with other residents and visitors. Residents can invite their friends or relatives for lunch for a small fee. Some people who reside at Generals Meadow may need help to eat and drink at some time during their stay. This help is provided by trained staff to do so, with dignity and respect.
The hairdressing salon is ideally located. Our hairdresser visits the home once a week, on a Wednesday.
We have an in house laundry service. Residents clothes are washed, dried and ironed daily. These are then neatly stacked or hung in residents wardrobes.
